“I have spoken to my doctors and need to listen to what my body is telling me,” the 32-year-old Spaniard said.

“I would like to say sorry to the tournament organisers and the fans that were hoping to see me play.”

Novak Djokovic announced this week he would play at the Queen’s Club for the first time in eight years and Nadal has been praising the event.

“Queen’s is a great event, I have happy memories of winning the title in 2008 and I wanted to come back this year,” added Nadal. “But it has been a very long clay-court season for me with great results.”

Nadal Wimbledon Odds

Nadal is 5/1 to win his third Wimbledon title at SW19 next month. He stated after his Paris win that matching Roger Federer’s Grand Slam tally isn’t something that motivates him.

The Majorcan did add that he’d love to surpass Federer’s current tally of 20. Nadal has 17 following Sunday’s win over Dominic Thiem.

Federer is 6/4 to win Wimbledon next month, while Djokovic is 11/2 to regain the crown he last held in 2015.
