Ladbrokes World Grand Prix – 300/1 shot Michael Georgiou second-most popular pick with punters
Ladbrokes World Grand Prix – MICHAEL GEORGIOU IS THE second-most popular pick with punters to go all the way this year.
The English-Cypriot star – fresh from his Snooker Shoot Out victory – has been heavily backed by customers in the last week, so much so that the bookies can reveal only Ronnie O’Sullivan has had more outright bets placed on him to win the tournament.
And at 300/1, were Georgiou to go all the way, it would comfortably be the biggest upset the bookies will have seen for some years as far as snooker betting is concerned – with the 30-year-old being the competition’s rank outsider.
O’Sullivan is currently the 3/1 favourite to win what would be his first Ladbrokes World Grand Prix, while 66/1 says last year’s runner-up, Ryan Day, goes one better this time out.
Alex Apati of Ladbrokes said: “Georgiou clearly impressed plenty of punters last time out at the Snooker Shoot Out and while the odds are against him to win another title this week, that hasn’t stopped fans from getting behind him in Preston.”
