Harry Kane Golden Boot Odds
Harry Kane’s Golden Boot odds have been cut from 5/1 into 2/1 favourite to be the winner at World Cup 2018 after a hat-trick in the 6-1 demolition of Panama on Sunday.
The Spurs man, who was available at 16/1 before a ball was kicked in Russia, is now on five goals with Cristiano Ronaldo and Romelu Lukaku one goal behind him.
England are now favourites to win Group G and 9/1 to win World Cup 2018.
“England were our worst outright result before the Panama game and we might see a bit more interest after that first half showing, albeit against mediocre opposition” added Freeth.
Despite not being particularly happy with his team’s display, Gareth Southgate hailed England’s ruthlessness after they had beaten Panama 6-1. “I didn’t like the start and I didn’t like their goal at the end,” Southgate said after the match. “I guess the bits in the middle were pretty good, but I am being hyper-critical. “We were ruthless in front of goal. We wouldn’t swap Harry Kane for any other No. 9 in the tournament, such is his ability to take chances.”
Kane also scored twice in the 2-1 victory against Tunisia and is 2/1 to be the leading goalscorer at World Cup 2018 with Ladbrokes. The Tottenham striker said: “It’s amazing, I’m extremely proud … We had fun out there.”
Panama substitute Felipe Baloy got on the scoresheet in the 78th minute but their coach Hernan Dario Gomez admitted: “Panama is like a small young child in football … England is totally spectacular, a beautiful team. “It could have been an even bigger score … What we did was to try to avoid a bigger catastrophe in the second half.”
England can be backed at 19/10 to beat Belgium in their final Group G match on Thursday while they are 9/1 to win World Cup 2018 outright.
