Tottenham Transfer News – Mauricio Pochettino has confirmed that Matt Janssen does not have a future at Tottenham and the striker is free to leave the club.
However, Pochettino says Josh Onomah is part of his plans for the new season, even though he and Dutchman Janssen were not included in Spurs’ squad for the pre-season trip to the USA – they are set to play Roma in San Diego on Thursday morning.
Janssen, who has two years remaining on his contract, spent last season on loan at Fenerbahce. The Turkish side are keen to snap up the 24-year-old on another loan agreement but Pochettino would prefer a permanent transfer.
Janssen joined Spurs two years ago from AZ Alkmaar for £17million but only found the net twice in the Premier League in 2016/17.
Pochettino said: “I think it’s different personal situations for the different players [who aren’t here] but the situation for Vincent is clear.
“Josh is part of our plans. He’s injured and doing his recovery with Harry Winks – that’s why he’s not here.
“Harry is doing well after his ankle injury and we hope he can join us as soon as possible, but at the moment he’s out of the group. We need to assess him every day.”
